Veratta Ltd is a brand new IT start-up. The company was established  in May 2014 and is a privately owned UK firm of data, information security and IT specialists with a focus on the pensions and financial services industries.

We are part of a group of companies, Ellcon Investments Limited, which includes Spence & Partners Limited, a firm of pension scheme actuaries, pension consultants and administrators, Dalriada Trustees Limited (Dalriada), a leading independent trustee company, and Pensions Hosting Company Limited, a pension software supplier. We have offices in Belfast, Glasgow and London and have clients throughout the UK and Ireland.

The Business Analyst will have responsibility and accountability for:
•    Maintenance of business systems including Mantle, P3, Workflow and SharePoint
•    Data management including installation and auditing
•    Level 1 and 2 IT support
•    Development of technical products used throughout the business
•    Communicating effectively with external clients and internal teams to deliver functional requirements
•    Daily management of any change requests relating to working projects to meet agreed deadlines
•    Researching and learning about new software in the market that relates to the organisation’s functions

Essential Educational Qualifications

•    Hons Degree (or equivalent), 2.1 or above
•    A Level (or equivalent) Mathematics grade B or above
•    GCSE (or equivalent) grades A – C in Mathematics and English

Essential Professional Competence

•    Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Access
•    Solid mathematical aptitude and effective project management skills
•    Ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver
•    Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information
•    Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks

Desirable Professional Competence

•    Sound knowledge of documentation procedures, software development procedures and methods, operator instructions, and program flow charts
•    Experience in database structure/design, preferably SQL Server
•    Ability to analyse and document complex business processes and to understand complex database systems

37.5 hours per week: Monday – Friday. The Company operates a flexitime policy. The role holder will be required to work unsociable and additional hours at times for the completion of projects as and when required.

The role holder may be required to work across the United Kingdom.

There is a three month probationary period from commencement of employment.   

As part of the pre-hire process the successful candidate will be subject to reference checking and security vetting.

Due to the changing nature of our business the role profile will inevitably change. We therefore recognise that from time to time, you will be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities, as directed by the Board.
